Seattle, March 23, 2007 – The newly invigorated Seattle chapter of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce (SACC Seattle) held their first annual meeting and luncheon recently. The event was held in conjunction with the Seattle-Sweden Diabetes Awareness Day.

Chamber supporters learned about the decades of dedicated research, and recent progress toward effective treatment of juvenile diabetes from Professor Åke Lernmark and CEO Anders Essen-Möller, of Diamyd Medical AB. SACC Seattle elected a new board of directors in its annual meeting. The membership also elected Claes Olsson, President and CEO, Powerit Solutions as chairman by unanimous vote; “This is a very exciting time for us in SACC-Seattle since the chamber has been inactive for about two years.
